Anthony “Tony” Emanuele (1983) earned All-America honors in 1982 as a defensive back on the SRU football team. He also received All-PSAC-Western Division honors and was the team’s MVP in 1982. Emanuele also served as the team’s co-captain in both 1981 and 1982.
 
Over his four-year career (with three seasons as a full-time starter), Emanuele racked up 224 tackles (56 per season), 29 pass break ups, and nine interceptions. He led the team in pass break ups in each of his last three seasons. In Emanuele’s senior season, he recorded 87 tackles (third on the team), 10 pass break ups (first on the team), and four interceptions (tied-second on the team).
 
Upon graduation from SRU, Emanuele signed a professional contract with the Memphis Showboats of the United States Football League (USFL). He was inducted into the Penn Hills Hall of Fame in 2004 and is currently the owner of P.P.G., Inc. He and his wife, Marianne, are the parents of two children.
