Dick Hudson lettered four seasons in baseball at The Rock and served as team captain in both his junior and senior seasons on teams coached by 1994 SRU Athletic Hall of Fame inductee Wally Rose before he expanded his horizons.

Since 1983, he has served in various capacities while being employed by the University of Georgia and/or the University System of Georgia. Included in his job assignments have been stints as Coordinator of Olympic Activities from 1990-96, chair of the University Olympic Tennis Bid in 1990-91 and "A Special Assignment Within an Assignment" as coordinator of UGa football's One-Hundredth Anniversary Celebration.

In July 1996, Hudson was presented Sweden's Medal of Appreciation by King Karl XVI Gustaf and Queen Sylvia for his work with the Swedish Olympic committee.

From April 1997 to September 2000, Hudson served as a consultant to the 2000 Olympics Planning Committees in Sydney and Canberra, Australia, and he received the "Outstanding Service to Australia Award" from the Australian Ambassador to the U.S.

He also received a Certificate of Appreciation from the U.S. Olympic Committee for his work with the women's soccer team prior to the 1996 Games held in Atlanta.

Owner of a Ph.D from the University of Georgia and a native of Sharon, Hudson currently resides in Watkinsville, Ga.
