Jessica Bungo Livermore is a former All-American and two-year women’s tennis captain at Slippery Rock.

Livermore earned All-America honors in her senior season of 2003-04 and finished her collegiate career with 177 victories, which at the time ranked as the best total in school history and is now the No. 2 mark.

The All-America honor capped a senior season in which Livermore collected multiple honors, including the ITA’s Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship/Leadership and Player of the Year awards for the NCAA Division II East Region.

Livermore also won the ITA East Region singles championship in her final collegiate campaign and teamed with doubles partner Ashley Michaux to win the regional doubles title and finish sixth in national competition.

Livermore and Michaux finished the 2003-04 season ranked ninth nationally in doubles and Livermore was ranked 21st nationally as a singles player.

As a junior, Livermore led The Rock to an NCAA regional championship and their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Round of 32. The regional and national honors came on the heels of SRU winning its first PSAC team championship in 23 years.

Livermore, who led The Rock to NCAA appearances in all four of her collegiate seasons, earned PSAC Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman in 2001 and was a four-time first-team All-PSAC selection. Livermore earned PSAC Scholar-Athlete honors in each of her four collegiate campaigns, was named to the Dean’s List in seven semesters and received the Butler County AAHPERD Physical Education Student of the Year honor in 2002.

Upon graduation from SRU, Livermore served as a physical education teacher and staff tennis professional in Roswell, Georgia. She eventually changed her career path and earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Georgia State University in 2007. Livermore is currently employed at Northside Hospital Forsyth in Cumming, Georgia. She also serves as a clinical instructor and volunteer at both Georgia State and Mercer universities in Atlanta.

A 2000 graduate of Indiana (Pa.) High School, Livermore resides in Cumming, Georgia with her husband Jordan and their daughter Madison.
