Hall of Fame
Highlights: All-American, four-time All-Region selection, four-time All-PSAC selection, Regional Freshman of the Year, ranks second in program history in blocks, third in attack percentage and fourth in kills.
Urbanik is a first-ballot Hall of Fame selection in her first year of eligibility after graduating in 2009. She burst onto the scene in 2005 by earning All-PSAC and All-Region honors and being named the Freshman of the Year in both the conference and the region. She would go on to earn All-America honors in 2006 and finish her career as a four-time All-PSAC and All-Region selection. She ranks second all-time at SRU in total blocks (342), third in attack percentage (.262), third in service aces (177) and fourth in kills (1,614).
Her dominance on the court helped The Rock to an average of 25.8 wins per season and four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances from 2005-08. In addition to her athletic performance, Urbanik was also a two-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete and was honored with the Outstanding Student Achievement Award by the safety management program in 2009. She served as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for two years and represented SRU at the NCAA Leadership Institute.
After graduating from Slippery Rock, Urbanik dove into a successful safety management career with Black & Veatch, where she currently serves as the Environmental, Safety, Health and Security Manager for a number of Global Renewables properties and projects in the U.S. She has been active in a number of charitable organizations, including the Special Olympics, Susan G. Komen Foundation, American Heart Association and the Big Brother/Big Sister program.
Urbanik has been supportive of Slippery Rock athletics and academics since graduating, making numerous trips to attend volleyball alumni functions and endowing a safety management scholarship in her name. She resides in Olathe, Kansas with her fiancé, Jason Raymond.
