Hall of Fame
Judith Whalen-Geist joins her husband, James Geist (`89) as the first husband-wife duo to be inducted into the SRU Athletic Hall of Fame. Her husband was a member of the hall's Class of 2000.
Whalen-Geist earned All-America honors in the shot put in both indoor (1990) and outdoor (1991) competition and was a three-time national qualifier. The 1990 PSAC championship-meet MVP, she claimed two PSAC titles in the shot put and earned a pair of conference runner-up honors (one each in shot put and discus).
A four-year letterwinner at SRU, she also earned runner-up honors in both the prestigious Penn Relays and Florida Relays competitions in 1991 and claimed three shot put and two discus titles in Keystone Games competitions.
Currently an assistant track and field coach at Knoch High School and PTO president at South Butler Primary School, Whalen-Geist was inducted into the Blue Mountain High School Hall of Fame in 1999.
