James Egli Field is the home of the Slippery Rock University men's and women's soccer teams. No other teams or clubs use the facility for practice or games.

The natural grass surface is one of the best grass playing fields in western Pennsylvania that features underground drainage and irrigation systems.

Egli Field has gone under extensive renovations over the years. In 2018 a new walkway and bleachers were installed along with a state of the art press box. In 2009 the field was enclosed with a fence and a green wind screen was added in 2010 to enhance the look of the facility.

The complex features ample bleacher seating elevated on a hillside and also provides space to set up blankets or fold out lawn chairs along each side of the bleachers.

Both team benches are covered and shielded from the elements. Portable restrooms are available during the season and permanent restrooms are available just up the hill at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium during games.

The field is named after legendary Rock men's soccer coach James Egli, who many consider to be the "Father of Rock Soccer" Egli, who is a member of the NAIA Soccer and the SRU Athletic Halls of Fame, was the head coach of the men's team at SRU from 1956-86.
