SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University Athletics Hall of Fame Committee has announced the seven-member class of 2026 that will be enshrined at the annual Rock Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet Oct. 9, along with a Special Recognition Award honoree.
 
The Class of 2026 includes:
• Cheryl Bailey, Women's Track & Field (class of 1977)
• Vicki (Peterson) Eberhart, Women's Track & Field / Field Hockey (class of 1998)
• Shamar Greene Jr., Football (class of 2016)
• Robbie (Larson) Jacobs, Women's Water Polo (class of 2006)
• Gabrielle Malishchak, Field Hockey (class of 2013)
• Jack Muller, Football (class of 2024)
• Devin Taylor, Men's Basketball (class of 2013)
 
Special Recognition Award:
• 1986 women's basketball team – celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first SRU women's basketball team to win a PSAC title.
 
The 42nd annual induction ceremony is set for Friday evening, Oct. 9 at the Robert Smith Student Center Ballroom. A reception will take place from 5-6 p.m. followed by dinner and the induction ceremonies beginning at 6 p.m. Inductees will also be recognized at halftime of The Rock football game against Seton Hill Saturday, Oct. 10 with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
 
Tickets for the 2026 SRU Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremonies are $70 each for adults and include beverages and appetizers during the reception, dinner Friday evening and a ticket to Saturday's football game. A full table (eight tickets) can be purchased for $560. Children 12 and under will be admitted for $20. All tickets include access to the social hour and a catered dinner. The addition of the seven-person Class of 2026 increases the number of former SRU student-athletes, coaches and contributors inducted into the Hall of Fame to 292 since the inaugural class was inducted in 1984.
 
The following are brief profiles of members of the Hall of Fame Class of 2026, listed in alphabetical order.

CHERYL BAILEY
- Sport: Women's Track & Field
- Graduation Year: 1977
- Highlights: School record-setting sprinter and trendsetter that competed before the adoption of Title IX legislation, went on to a decorated career as an athletics administrator at the collegiate level and a sports executive career in women's soccer, which included a stint as the general manager of the U.S. Women's National Team from 2007-12.
 
Cheryl Bailey began her storied career in athletics by breaking down barriers and competing against the boys when she was in high school at Southwestern High School in Jamestown, N.Y. She set her school's 50-yard dash record as one of the first girls to compete as a member of the boys' team in the early 1970s.
 
She continued that trend at SRU, where she set the school record in the 50-yard dash in 1977 while competing before the landmark Title IX legislation was passed in 1979. She earned her bachelor's degree in physical education from Slippery Rock in 1977 and went on to earn a master's degree in physical education from The Ohio State University in 1983.
 
While working on her master's degree, Bailey joined the athletic department at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. She served as the coach of the women's track & field team from 1981-88 and in 1983 was named women's athletic director, a position she held from 1983-90. In that role, she oversaw 12 women's varsity athletic programs. She also served as the first head women's soccer coach at Denison and compiled a career record of 86-52-12, leading the Big Red to a North Coast Athletic Conference Championship in 1984. She was a three-time NCAC Coach of the Year. In addition to starting the program at Denison, her squad was also the first women's collegiate varsity soccer program in the state of Ohio.
 
Bailey left Denison in 1990 to become the senior associate athletic director for the University of Wisconsin, a position she held until 2005. She led the Wisconsin athletic department to gender equity compliance and in 2004 was appointed as the chair of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee.
 
Following her tenure at Wisconsin, she returned to the pitch and was named the general manager of the United States Women's Soccer National Team. Under her leadership from 2007-11, the United States won the gold medal at the 2008 Olympics, took silver at the 2011 World Cup and earned bronze at the 2007 World Cup.
 
She was the founding executive director of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) from 2012-15, and as a national leader in soccer, organized and led soccer clinics on the White House lawn for First Lady Michelle Obama.
 
Bailey was inducted into the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame and the Section VI New York State Public High School Hall of Fame in 2019, the Denison University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2020, the University of Wisconsin Hall of Fame in 2022 and the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame in 2023.
 
Now retired from a storied career in athletics, Bailey currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is the proud mother of three children, Kelly, Ken and Peter, and has four grandchildren.

VICKI (PETERSON) EBERHART
- Sport: Women's Track & Field / Field Hockey
- Graduation Year: 1998
- Highlights: Multi-sport standout, won two PSAC titles in the high jump and one PSAC title in the pole vault, All-American in the high jump, was also a two-time All-PSAC honoree in field hockey and still owns the single-season record for points per game.
 
Vicki Eberhart was one of a rare group of athletes at Slippery Rock that not just participated in multiple sports, but excelled and earned numerous honors in multiple sports.
 
She came to Slippery Rock after a stellar high school career in Chambersburg and elected to play field hockey in the fall while also competing in track & field in the spring. She wasted little time in making her mark in both sports, winning her first PSAC title in the high jump in 1995 while also earning All-PSAC honors in field hockey in 1995.
 
Eberhart would go on to add a second PSAC title in the high jump in 1998 while also becoming the first PSAC women's champion in the pole vault in the same year. She set the SRU records in the pole vault and high jump and went on to earn All-America honors in the high jump at the 1998 NCAA Division II National Championships.
 
She also earned another All-PSAC honor in field hockey in 1997 after she scored 26 points in just 10 games. Her 2.60 points per game is still the SRU record for points per game and her 26 points and 13 goals that season still rank fourth in single-season history at SRU.
 
After earning a degree in special education from SRU in 1998, Eberhart went on to earn a master's degree from Bloomsburg University in special education in 2006. She parlayed that education into a special education and coaching career, working as a Title I Paraprofessional and substitute teacher in the Montoursville School District and as the head girls track & field coach at Williamsport High School.
 
Eberhart just finished her 19th season as the head track & field coach at Williamsport, where she was named the District 4 Coach of the Year in 2026 after leading the Millionaires to their third straight District title. Her coaching tenure at Williamsport has developed numerous PIAA state champions and high school national qualifiers. 
 
Eberhart married fellow Slippery Rock alumnus and track & field teammate Chad Eberhart, himself an All-American in the pole vault at SRU. The couple currently reside in Montoursville, Pennsylvania with their two children, Bryce and Allie

SHAMAR GREENE JR.
- Sport: Football
- Graduation Year: 2016
- Highlights: All-time SRU career rushing record holder with 4,275 rushing yards, also ranks No. 2 and No. 3 at SRU in single-season rushing yards, three-time All-PSAC honoree, two-time All-Region honoree and All-American in 2015. 
 
Shamar Greene's storybook career at Slippery Rock began with a walk-on opportunity and ended with the most rushing yards in program history.
 
He joined the program after a standout high school career at West Mifflin High School and walked on to a team with little promise of playing time. After redshirting his freshman year in 2012, Greene got his chance and made an immediate mark in 2013, rushing for 727 yards and averaging 66.1 yards per game in a shared backfield. 
 
Greene took over as the No. 1 running back in 2014 and never looked back. He rushed for 1,482 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2014 and followed that up by rushing for 1,545 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2015 while leading SRU to the national quarterfinals and earning All-America honors. 
 
His career was cut short after suffering a season-ending injury in the fifth game of the 2016 season after he rushed for 521 yards in 4.5 games. 
 
All told, Greene finished his SRU career with a program record 4,275 rushing yards and 35 rushing touchdowns, averaging 5.8 yards per carry and 106.9 yards per game. He also caught 52 passes for 461 yards and two touchdowns and finished with 4,736 all-purpose yards and 224 total points. He was named to the All-PSAC team three times and picked up All-Region honors in both 2014 and 2015.
 
He still ranks No. 1 in all-time rushing yards, No. 2 in rushing attempts (727), No. 2 in rushing yards per game (106.9), No. 3 in all-purpose yards (4,736), No. 6 in rushing touchdowns (35), No. 7 in total touchdowns (37) and No. 10 in all-time scoring (224 points) in SRU program history. Greene also ranks No. 3 and No. 4 in SRU single-season history for rushing. 
 
After earning his degree from SRU in 2016 and becoming the first of his siblings to graduate from college, Greene went into a career in construction. He currently works as a carpenter for A.Martini & Co. and resides in Duquesne, Pennsylvania with his partner, Lauren Harris.

ROBBIE (LARSON) JACOBS
- Sport: Women's Water Polo
- Graduation Year: 2006
- Highlights: Three-time All-American and the 1995 National Championship MVP, led Slippery Rock the 1995 National Championship and led SRU to top six finishes at the National Championships in all four years of her collegiate career after scoring 264 career goals.
 
Robbie Jacobs burst onto the scene at Slippery Rock in 1994 and led The Rock women's water polo team to a runner-up finish at the National Championships, announcing her presence and setting up a foundation for a remarkable four-year career.
 
She followed up that season with a dominant sophomore campaign, leading The Rock to the 1995 National Championship after SRU posted a 25-3 overall record and became the first women's water polo team from outside the state of California to ever claim a national title. More than 30 years later, SRU still owns that claim as the only non-California team to win a title. Jacobs was named the Most Valuable Player at the 1995 National Championships and took home national Player of the Year honors.
 
Over the next two years, Jacobs would add two more All-America honors while leading Slippery Rock to a fourth place finish at nationals in 1996 and a sixth place showing in 1997. She closed her career with a remarkable 264 goals after being named a three-time first team All-American.
 
Jacobs' collegiate career was so impressive that she was inducted into the Collegiate Water Polo Association Hall of Fame in 2006. Dan Sharadin, the commissioner of the CWPA, called her "one of the best athletes to have ever played the game" when she was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
 
In addition to her collegiate playing career, Jacobs also played on the U.S. Women's Junior National Team from 1990-96 and competed in numerous international competitions, including helping the team to the gold medal in the Pan-American Championships in Havana, Cuba in 1995 and a bronze medal in the Junior World Championships in Montreal, Quebec in 1996.
 
After her playing career ended, Jacobs went into a career in coaching and founded the Albuquerque Water Polo and Swim Team, a program that has produced numerous collegiate athletes. She also spent time as an assistant coach at Arizona State University and worked as the head coach of the Mountain Zone Olympic Development Program, where she was selected by USA Water Polo as the Mountain Zone Developmental Coach of the Year for three straight years from 2002-04.
 
Jacobs earned her undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico in 2006 and played two seasons on the collegiate club team for the Lobos. Her passion for that club carried over when she was recently given the chance to serve as the head coach of the men's club team at New Mexico, where she works alongside her husband Dane Jacobs. The Jacobs' also own and operate a pair of contracting companies, and she continues to serve as the program director of the Albuquerque Water Polo Club and the New Mexico High School Water Polo League.
 
Jacobs is the proud mother of one daughter, Cire Bova, and two God daughters, Bella Phelps and Sage Harper. She currently resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

GABRIELLE MALISHCHAK
- Sport: Field Hockey
- Graduation Year: 2013
- Highlights: The only four-time All-PSAC honoree in SRU field hockey history and the only first team All-American in program history, still ranks fifth all-time at SRU in assists, played on an SRU team that reached as high as a No. 8 national ranking.
 
Gabrielle Malishchak wasted little time in making an impact on the SRU field hockey program, leading the team in scoring on the way to earning All-PSAC honors and being named to the 2009 Division II All-Rookie team following her first semester on campus.
 
She followed that up with three more All-PSAC honors, including a pair of first team honors, to become the first and still the only four-time All-PSAC field hockey player in program history.
 
Malischak led the team to three wins over top 10 ranked opponents in 2010 and then guided the squad to postseason berths in both 2011 and 2012, marking the first trips to the playoffs for the program since 1987.

She served as team captain on the 2012 team that reached as high as No. 8 in the national rankings and went on to earn first team All-America honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association, becoming the first and still the only first team All-American in program history. She was also invited to participate in the 2012 NFHCA Senior All-Star game.
 
In addition to her excellence on the field, Malishchak was also a standout in the classroom and was named to the NFHCA Academic Squad in all four years of her career.
 
She dual majored in elementary and special education and earned her undergraduate degree from SRU in 2013. She has continued her education and is currently working on a master's degree in instructional design technology.
 
Following her collegiate career, Malishchak remained deeply involved in athletics through coaching and leadership at the middle and high school levels. From 2015–19, she served as the head soccer coach at St. Cloud Elementary School, where she founded and developed the school's soccer program. She also worked as an assistant field hockey coach at Holy Redeemer High School before moving on to her current role as head field hockey coach at J.T. Lambert Intermediate School, where she works full-time as a seventh-grade special education teacher and case manager in the East Stroudsburg Area School District. She also serves as an assistant coach with the girls basketball team at J.T. Lambert.
 
Malishchak currently resides in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

JACK MULLER
- Sport: Football
- Graduation Year: 2024
- Highlights: Two-time first team All-PSAC offensive tackle, earned All-America honors in 1982, played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1983 and played three years in the USFL, returned to SRU 43 years after playing career ended to finish degree and graduate.
 
Jack Muller played four seasons of football at The Rock from 1979-82 and earned a pair of first team All-PSAC honors in his final two seasons. He also earned All-ECAC honors and was named to the 1982 All-America team after serving as a captain during his senior season.
 
During his tenure at SRU, Muller played two games in Michigan Stadium, including in 1979 when Slippery Rock and Shippensburg set the all-time Division II attendance record with more than 61,000 fans in attendance.
 
Muller and his offensive linemates blocked for one of the best running backs in school history with Ricky Porter rushing for more than 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons in 1980 and 1981 before signing an NFL deal with the Detroit Lions.
 
After his playing career ended, Muller took advantage of an opportunity with the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a member of the 1983 roster. He played in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio in 1983 alongside all-time Steeler legends Franco Harris, Jack Lambert and Terry Bradshaw.
 
Following one season in the NFL, Muller played three more years of professional football in the USFL with the Memphis Showboats, New Jersey Generals and Pittsburgh Maulers.
 
After stepping away from football, Muller went back to his roots and embarked on a career in the explosives industry, calling back to his high school days when he worked as a laborer for Controlled Blasting, Inc. in Evans City. Beginning in 1987, he worked for several national manufacturers of explosives, from Texas to Oklahoma and Georgia, and in 2002 he became director of corporate sales for Austin Powder Company, based in Beachwood, Ohio.
 
After 21 years at Austin Powder Company, Muller took on a new role leading an international company called Bulk Mining Explosives in establishing its U.S. presence. While he began that role, he also began another journey by re-enrolling at Slippery Rock. When he left SRU after the 1982 season to pursue football, he was 15 credits shy of earning his degree. Nearly 43 year later, he completed that promise to himself by earning his degree in May of 2024.
 
The Muller family and Slippery Rock University are deeply connected. Jack married his college sweetheart, Jacki, a 1983 alumna. The couple have one daughter, Sophia, who also graduated from Slippery Rock in 2019. They currently reside in Slippery Rock.

DEVIN TAYLOR
- Sport: Men's Basketball
- Graduation Year: 2013
- Highlights: Three-time All-Region honoree and two-time first team All-PSAC honoree, scored 1,143 points in three seasons, still ranks in the top 13 in SRU history in scoring, rebounding, blocks and minutes played, played professionally overseas after graduation.
 
Devin Taylor helped elevate Slippery Rock men's basketball to a regional contender during a three-year run from 2010-13 in which he earned All-Region honors in each season.
 
A two-time first team All-PSAC selection, Taylor led The Rock to NCAA Tournament appearances in 2010-11 and again in 2012-13 with both of those teams finishing with 21 or more wins. The 2010-11 team went 21-11 in his first season on the court and the 2012-13 team put together one of the best records in program history at 23-9 during his senior season.
 
Taylor improved his numbers over all three seasons at SRU, averaging 11.8 points in his first season, 13.5 points in his second season and 14.5 points in his final year. He closed his career at The Rock with 1,143 points, 750 rebounds, 76 assists, 73 blocked shots and 59 steals, all while shooting an impressive 49.7 percent from the field on 881 total attempts.
 
He still ranks fourth in SRU career history in offensive rebounds (276), eighth in defensive rebounds (474), 10th in blocked shots (73) and 13th in scoring (1,143 points). He also ranks third all-time at SRU in single-season offensive rebounds (118 in 2012-13) and seventh in single-season total rebounds (309 in 2012-13).
 
Taylor graduated from Slippery Rock in 2013 and continued his basketball career in professional leagues in Europe, playing in Luxembourg and Latvia from 2013-15. The highlight of his professional career included earning All-Star honors and helping Jekabpils to a bronze medal in the Latvian Basketball League.
 
In three seasons of professional basketball, Taylor scored 987 total points and averaged 11.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.
 
He returned to the United States following the 2015 basketball season in Latvia and embarked on a career as a robot operator at BNZ Materials.
 
Taylor currently resides in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He is the proud father of five boys, Maliik, Devin Jr., Amar'e, Maverick and Jaxon.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD
• Team: 1985-86 Women's Basketball
• Highlights: 23-6 (.793) record, PSAC Tournament champions, PSAC West champions, advanced to second round of NCAA Tournament, tied for the most wins in single-season program history, finished year ranked No. 16 in final WBCA poll.
 
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the 1985-86 women's basketball team that claimed both PSAC West regular season and PSAC Tournament titles. In addition to still being tied for the most wins in a single-season in program history, 1985-86 is the only season to date that Slippery Rock has won the PSAC Tournament.
 
Coached by 2019 Slippery Rock Hall of Fame inductee Kathleen Richey-Walton, the 1985-86 team closed the season with a 23-6 overall record that included a 9-1 record inside the PSAC West, which secured The Rock's third regular season division title. Highlights of the regular season included a 10-game winning streak, the second longest stretch of consecutive wins in program history, and a 106-55, 51-point victory over Florida Memorial for what is the eighth largest win in program history.
 
Slippery Rock earned a bye in the quarterfinal round of the PSAC Tournament following their outstanding regular season before defeating West Chester in the semifinals, 86-71, to setup a championship game against East Stroudsburg at Morrow Field House.
 
The Rock led East Stroudsburg nearly wire-to-wire on the way to a 74-58 championship victory. Leading Slippery Rock to the conference title was Diane Walker, who produced 19 points, eight rebounds and four blocks against East Stroudsburg. Walker, who totaled 48 points, 22 rebounds and six blocks during the conference tournament, was named the PSAC Tournament MVP.
 
Slippery Rock's conference tournament title secured an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament where SRU defeated Pace (74-72) in the first round before having its season ended in a 73-60 loss to 10th-ranked Philadelphia Textile. Slippery Rock was ranked No. 16 in the final Women's Basketball Coaches Association Poll of the 1985-86 season.
 
The 1985-86 team was led by Walker, Laurel Heilman and Tina Moynihan. Walker became the program's first All-American after averaging 23.4 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. Heilman earned all-conference honors with per game averages of 10.3 points, 3.4 assists and 2.1 rebounds. Moynihan was The Rock's second leading scorer at 11.3 ppg.
