Bill Lennox (1959) retired in 1994 after 12 1/2 years as SRU's athletic director. Coach of The Rock's track and field program for 14 seasons prior to assuming the responsibilities of director of athletics, his teams attained 13 undefeated seasons, nine conference titles and one national championship (1979 NCAA Division III track) - the only NCAA team title in school history. His career coaching record was an impressive 178-79. A letterman on SRU's track and field teams as a student-athlete, he was involved in SRU athletics for 30 years as a student, coach and administrator.
