Rudy Corona (1956) served as Slippery Rock's first athletic trainer. He wound up working 48 years in the athletic training field and was honored in 1990 as a Founding Father of Athletic Training by the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers' Society and was inducted into the Butler Sports Hall of Fame in 1992.
