John Dahlstrand (1983, M.S. 1989) earned a pair of honorable mention All-America honors as middle guard on The Rock football team. A four-year letterwinner, he also earned a pair of All-PSAC honors after he led the team in tackles in back-to-back seasons (1981 and 1982).
Dahlstrand also lettered four years as a discus and shot put thrower on The Rock track and field team. He earned all-conference honors in 1981-82 and was a member of the 1979 NCAA Division III national championship team.
He also earned a berth in the NCAA championships and holds the school bench-press record for the 198-pound and 220-pound weight classes as a powerlifter.
After completing his playing career. Dahlstrand served as graduate assistant football coach at The Rock in 1983-84.
