Hall of Fame
John Carpenter (M.S. 1975) served over 30 years as SRU's Director of Sports Promotion & Information before retiring in 2000. In that capacity, he received 50 national awards from the College Sports Information Directors of America, including eight "Best in the Nation" honors.
He was inducted into the CoSIDA Hall of Fame in 1989 and received the Warren Berg Award as the nation's top College Division SID in 1991. Carpenter served as a CoSIDA board member for five years and chaired the association's Ethics Committee for 12 years. He was also the inaugural president of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference SID organization.
