Hall of Fame
Chad Vogt earned All-America honors in 1995 as a quarterback on The Rock football team. He was also a first-team All-PSAC-West selection in both 1995 and 1996 and served as team captain in 1996. He still holds the SRU single-season records for passing attempts, completions and yardage.
Vogt, who also lettered two seasons in basketball and played one season of baseball at SRU, played for the Paderborn German Dolphins of the European Professional Football League in 1997.
An assistant on the coaching staff headed by his father (Jim Vogt) at his alma mater, Harbor Creek High School, from 2000-02, Vogt had his jersey retired by HCHS shortly after his death at the age of 29 in 2003. A member of the Erie Times News' All-Century Team, he was inducted into the Erie Metro Chapter Hall of Fame in 2004.
