Bill Meise (1947) was a former Rock head football and track coach and assistant basketball coach who retired in 1983 after 30 years of service to his alma mater. He was a football, swimming and track standout as a collegian, earning all-district honors as a guard on the football team. After teaching and coaching for six seasons, he returned to SRU to become chairman of the Health & Physical Education Department and later served as Dean of the School of HPE&R and Dean of Graduate Studies. An active member of the SRU Alumni Association, he was instrumental in the formation of the NKT Scholarship Fund.
