Gary Aldrich was a four-year letterman for The Rock track and field team from 1979-83 and a two-year member of the SRU football team (1978-79). He also served six seasons as an assistant coach for Rock cross country and track and field teams (1989-95).
Aldrich is the proud owner of two degrees from SRU. He received a bachelor's degree in health and physical education in 1982 and a master's degree in Science of Sport and Exercise, Kinesiology/Biomechanics in 1989.
Upon completion of his graduate work, Aldrich became head men's and women's cross country and track and field coach at Alfred University (1995-98). He received one Coach of the Year honor and led teams to one conference championship and four conference runner-up finishes
A native of Portsmouth, Va., and graduate of Somerset High School in Massachusetts, Aldrich currently resides in Cranberry Township. He is employed as the Mid-Atlantic Sales Manager for M-F Athletic Company, the largest track and field/functional training equipment company in the U.S.
