Tom Stabile (1968) attained All-America status in baseball while at The Rock. He broke the SRU record (at the time) by hitting .436 in his senior baseball season.

After SRU, Stabile began a long and storied career in officiating. He started in the high school ranks, officiating numerous football, basketball, and baseball championship games in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (In 2010, he was inducted into the WPIAL Hall of Fame).

After working numerous years at the high school level, Stabile moved up to the college ranks, where he officiated games in the Big East.

Eventually, Stabile worked his way up to the NFL. He officiated numerous wild-card and divisional playoff games, an NFC Championship game, two Pro Bowls, and Super Bowl XLVI where the Patriots faced off against the Giants. Stabile retired in 2015, after 20 years as an NFL official.
