She ranks 10th among NCAA Division III head coaches with a 523-319-3 career record in 21 seasons as a collegiate head softball coach and has recorded more than 100 wins in 11 seasons as a head volleyball coach.

Forsty was a member of the tennis and softball teams at SRU. She compiled a 30-3 record in four seasons as The Rock's No. 1 doubles player and was one of the founding members of The Rock softball program, for which she was the starting catcher in 1974 and 1975.

After finishing her playing career, Forsty served as an assistant softball coach at SRU under 1988 SRU Hall of Fame inductee Jan Kasnevich and helped lead The Rock to No. 5 and No. 7 finishes in the AIAW national tournaments in 1980 and 1981.
