Mike Kish (1973) was a standout and record setting football player for The Rock. He totaled 435 carries, 2,173 yards (4.99 yards per carry), and 17 touchdowns (one receiving TD) during his time playing for SRU. Kish became the first SRU running back to rush for more than 1,000 yards in his junior season when he totaled 1,029 yards and a career-high 14 touchdowns (one receiving TD). He then followed up this historic season by setting a new career high of 1,084 rushing yards in the 1972 season. He also led that ’72 team to an 8-2-1 record and PSAC championship as an All-Conference tailback.
