Slippery Rock University Athletics

George Stonis (1935) was a three-sport athlete while at The Rock. At 6’4”, Stonis was a center on the basketball team. He was also a state champion in the discus event on the track team. Stonis was also a three-year letterman on the football team as a two-way tackle. He played on the undefeated 1933 SRU football team and co-captained the 1934 team. Stonis was also an honor student during his time at The Rock.
