SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University track & field program will have 125 athletes competing at three different meets over four days from Thursday through Sunday this week.
The Rock will send seven multi-event athletes to Susquehanna University Thursday and Friday for the Riverhawk Multi Meet. SRU will also send 69 athletes to Westminster College to compete in the Westminster Invitational Friday and Saturday and will send another 49 athletes to Bucknell University to compete in the Bison Outdoor Classic Saturday and Sunday. LAST WEEK
Slippery Rock is coming off a strong performance at home last week at the Dave Labor Invitational, where the men and women combined for 68 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks and seven NCAA provisional marks. Highlights of the meet included
Zach Gose breaking the hammer throw record (61.64m),
Seaton Wozniak recording NCAA marks in both the shot put and the discus and
Joey Reed hitting an NCAA mark in the javelin to lead the men's team, while
Olivia Heckman tallied an NCAA mark in the shot put,
Baylee Blauser hit the 12.00-meter mark in the triple jump and
Isabella Bartoletti hit the NCAA standard in the javelin for the women's team.
