LEWISBURG, Pa. – Zach Gose broke his own program record in the hammer throw for the second time in three days and Seaton Wozniak won the discus throw to lead The Rock men's track & field team at the Bison Outdoor Classic that wrapped up Sunday evening from Bucknell University.
 
The Rock competed in three different meets over four days this week with multi-event athletes competing at Susquehanna (recap HERE) and another group of athletes competing at Westminster (recap HERE).
 
Slippery Rock's men finished the Bison Outdoor Classic with 18 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, five NCAA provisional marks and 13 top 10 finishes with the throwers leading the way.
 
Gose completed a stellar weekend by placing second in the hammer throw with an SRU record and NCAA provisional mark of 62.12 meters. It marked the third straight meet he has broken the SRU record and the second time in three days this weekend. He broke his own record Friday during the Westminster Invitational with a throw of 61.72 meters and then topped that mark again Sunday. Gose also took 14th in the discus throw at Bucknell with a PSAC mark of 45.13 meters. He was joined in reaching the PSAC standard in the hammer by Ryan Oleksy, who was 18th with a throw of 50.66 meters. Oleksy also met the PSAC standard in the discus with a ninth place finish (47.64m).
 
Wozniak recorded the lone event win for SRU at Bucknell and finished the meet with a pair of NCAA provisional marks. He won the discus throw with a mark of 51.41 meters and took sixth in the shot put with a toss of 17.67 meters. Connor Brown also hit the NCAA mark in the shot put with an eighth place finish and a career-best throw of 17.23 meters. Logan Parker took 11th with a PSAC qualifying effort of 16.14 meters.
 
The final NCAA mark of the meet belonged to Joey Reed, who placed sixth in the javelin with a throw of 59.68 meters.
 
Jason Alderson rounded out the top efforts in the field events with a pair of PSAC marks in the horizontal jumps. He took fourth in the triple jump (14.34m) and seventh in the long jump (6.95m).
 
The Rock recorded five top 10 finishes on the track, including in both relay events. The 4x100-meter relay team of Kadin Johnson, Jacob Thompson, Nicholas Hartwick and Matthew Crow took sixth in 41.96 seconds. Johnson and Thompson also ran on the 4x400-meter relay, where they teamed with Josiah Vidzro and Trey Huha to place sixth in a season-best time of 3:16.60.
 
Crow tallied a pair of top 10 finishes and PSAC marks on his own in both hurdle races with an eighth place finish in the 400-meter hurdles in 54.39 seconds and a ninth place showing in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.85 seconds. Johnson and VIdzro also hit the PSAC standard in the open 400-meter dash with Johnson in 19th (49.24 seconds) and Vidzro in 21st (49.41 seconds).
 
The final top 10 effort on the track came from Eli Schreiber, who took 10th in the 10,000-meter run in a PSAC effort of 31:49.84. He was joined in the distance races by Michael Gauntner and John Juszynski, who both ran PSAC times in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Gauntner was 32nd in 9:33.63 and Juszynski was 40th in 9:42.92.
