NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Zach Gose won the hammer throw and broke his own program record in the event to lead the Slippery Rock University men's track & field team to seven Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks and one NCAA provisional mark at the Westminster Invitational that wrapped up Saturday evening from Westminster College.
 
The Rock sent a limited roster to Westminster this weekend while also sending athletes to compete at Susquehanna and Bucknell. The Susquehanna Multi Meet ended Friday night (recap HERE), while the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell will go deep into the evening Saturday before finishing Sunday evening (live results HERE).
 
Gose scored the highlight of the meet Friday when SRU hosted the hammer throw as part of the two-day meet. He won the competition with an NCAA provisional mark of 61.72 meters, topping his own SRU record of 61.64 meters that he just set last week. He led a 1-4 sweep for SRU with Ryan Oleksy placing second (50.85m), Logan Parker finishing third (48.98m) and Evan Hall finishing fourth (48.28m), all with PSAC marks.
 
Logan Turton took second in the high jump with a clearance of 2.01 meters and Christian Crowley was fourth in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.52 meters to round out the top efforts in the field.
 
Jonathan Wess led the way on the track with a second place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a PSAC qualifying time of 15.05 seconds. Kyle Rauchut picked up the lone win on the track with a victory in the 200-meter dash in 22.05 seconds.
