Rock sending athletes to two meets this weekend

The Rock track & field teams will send athletes to both Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and the University of Lynchburg in Virginia to compete in two different meets this Friday and Saturday.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University track & field program will travel to two different meets Friday and Saturday with groups of athletes set to compete at the University of Lynchburg in Virginia and at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

WHO IS GOING WHERE?
Slippery Rock will send most of its distance runners and limited sprinters and field athletes to Carnegie Mellon, while the majority of the sprinters, hurdlers and field event athletes will travel to Lynchburg.
 
MEN'S PREVIEW AT CARNEGIE MELLON
Slippery Rock will send its distance squad to lead the group at CMU, where John Juszynski will lead the way in the steeplechase and Eli Schreiber will lead the way in the 5,000-meter run. The Rock will enter a total of 12 men in the 5,000-meter run, seven in the 1,500-meter run and six in the 800-meter run. SRU will also send a limited squad of sprinters to CMU with Jacob Thompson, Danick Hinkson and Tyler Morosky leading that group. Just eight field athletes will head to CMU.. SRU MEN'S TOP ENTRIES AT CARNEGIE MELLON WOMEN'S PREVIEW AT CARNEGIE MELLON
Slippery Rock will send its distance squad to CMU to lead the way, along with select field athletes and multi-event athletes. The distance crew will be led by Ruthie Hughes and Carissa Flynn in the 5,000-meter run, Hannah Burgoon in the steeplechase and Jennifer Cichra in the mid-distance races. Multi-eventers Leighanne Swan and Maddy Miller will compete in multiple events. Julia Coffaro is set to lead the horizontal jumpers, while Sophia Yard will headline the high jump entries and throwers Becca Martin, Madylin Wolter, Liberty Paladin and Linsey Donlan will lead that group. SRU WOMEN'S TOP ENTRIES AT CARNEGIE MELLON MEN'S PREVIEW AT LYNCHBURG
Slippery Rock will send most of its top sprinters, hurdlers and field event athletes to Virginia to compete at Lynchburg this weekend. That group includes multiple-time PSAC champion Matthew Crow in the hurdles and the anticipated top 4x100-meter relay team of Crow, Benny Whitaker, Kyle Rauchut and Nicholas Hartwick competing in the sprints. All-American shot putter Seaton Wozniak will make his outdoor debut, where he will be joined by Connor Brown and Logan Parker in the shot put. Zach Gose and Joey Reed, who both hit NCAA marks last week, will also highlight the throwers in action. Jason Alderson and Matt Mallon are set to lead the horizontal jumps, while Logan Gossard and Logan Turton will lead the way in the vertical jumps. SRU MEN'S TOP ENTRIES AT LYNCHBURG WOMEN'S PREVIEW AT LYNCHBURG
Slippery Rock will send most of its top sprinters, hurdlers and field event athletes to Virginia to compete at Lynchburg this weekend. That group includes indoor PSAC champion pole vaulter Allie Taylor and fellow All-PSAC honorees from the indoor season in jumpers Baylee Blauser and Alice Bogia, thrower Olivia Heckman and multi-event athlete Autumn Wyatt. The Rock will also be led this weekend by All-American javelin thrower Isabella Bartoletti and will welcome back 2025 PSAC indoor shot put champion Savannah Schneck, who is set to compete for the first time since the 2025 indoor season. On the track, sprinters Ava Reagle, Grace Lennon, Lydia Reed, Shannon McCullough and Annasophia Stauffer will headline the group, along with freshmen hurdle standouts Ondrea Young and Kathryn Morrison and 400-meter hurdler Evabella Cox. Recaps and results from both meets will be posted to RockAthletics.com Saturday evening or Sunday morning, depending on when final results are available.
 
UP NEXT

Slippery Rock will host the first of two home meets this season with the Dave Labor Invitational next Friday and Saturday, April 3-4. The meet will see an altered schedule this year with select field events and distance races taking place Friday before the remainder of events will conclude Saturday.
