YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Seaton Wozniak broke his own program record in the shot put to lead the Slippery Rock University men's track & field team to 17 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks and four NCAA provisional marks Friday at the YSU Last Chance Meet hosted by Youngstown State University.

Wozniak headlined the meet by shattering his own SRU record of 17.96 meters in the shot put from earlier this season with a winning throw of 18.17 meters, topping 18 meters for the first time in his career. That mark also established a meet record and moves him up two places to No. 8 among all throwers in Division II this winter.

The Rock hit two NCAA marks and four PSAC marks in the shot put Friday night with Connor Brown placing sixth with an NCAA toss of 16.85 meters. Logan Parker was 12th with a PSAC mark of 15.87 meters and Evan Hall was 16th with a PSAC throw of 15.39 meters.

SRU hit three NCAA marks in the throws Friday with Zach Gose meeting the NCAA standard in the weight throw with a fourth place finish and a mark of 18.50 meters.

All four NCAA marks came in the field with the final provisional coming from Logan Gossard, who placed sixth in the seeded section of the pole vault with a clearance of 4.82 meters. Christian Crowley also hit the PSAC standard and narrowly missed the NCAA mark in the pole vault with a win in the unseeded section and a clearance of 4.70 meters. Logan Anderson took second behind Crowley with a PSAC qualifier of 4.40 meters.

Slippery Rock also had a trio of men hit the PSAC standard in the long jump with all three recording top five finishes. Jason Alderson led the way with a career-best effort of 7.05 meters to place second. Anderson was third with a leap of 6.92 meters and Matt Mallon took fifth with a jump of 6.90 meters.

The Rock tallied six individual PSAC marks on the track with three coming in the 60-meter hurdles. Matthew Crow led the way there with an eighth place finish in 8.17 seconds. Jonathan Wess was 16th in 8.50 seconds with Anderson taking 17th in the same time to cap his day with three PSAC marks (60m hurdles, long jump, pole vault).

The other PSAC efforts all came in the sprints. Benny Whitaker took 12th in the 60-meter dash in 6.98 seconds, Kyle Rauchut was 12th in the 200-meter dash in 22.04 seconds and Trey Huha was 13th in the 400-meter dash in 49.51 seconds.

Huha and Rauchut then closed out the meet by teaming with Kadin Johnson and Jacob Thompson to place fifth in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:18.19.
