SRU'S PSAC INDOOR HISTORY
Slippery Rock finished third last year and has finished inside the top three in the team standings in each of the last 13 consecutive PSAC indoor meets. The Rock have been top three in 15 of the 23 total PSAC indoor meets that have been held. SRU has one PSAC indoor title (2008) and has been runner-up eight times.

TEAM TITLE PREVIEW
Shippensburg is the heavy favorite to win its 15th straight indoor title. Based on the seed positions, the Raiders have more than a 60-point cushion entering the weekend. Slippery Rock is expected to be locked in a battle with East Stroudsburg and Lock Haven for positions 2-4 in the team standings. Shippensburg won the meet last year with 167 points while East Stroudsburg edged SRU for the runner-up trophy with the Warriors scoring 121.6 points and SRU tallying 118 points.

SRU'S RETURNING CHAMPIONS
Slippery Rock enters the meet with a pair of returning champions from last winter in Matthew Crow in the 60-meter hurdles and Drew Layton in the pole vault. Crow won the hurdles title in both 2024 and 2025 and enters the meet this weekend with the No. 2 seed. Layton has been an All-American in each of the last three full seasons with an indoor All-America honor last year and a pair of outdoor All-America awards, but he has been injured much of this season and has not competed in the last month. He will enter the meet as the No. 2 seed.

NO. 1 SEEDS
Slippery Rock has two No. 1 seeds entering the meet with Logan Anderson being the only individual with a No. 1 seed. He will be the top seed in the heptathlon and is looking for his first conference title. The Rock also own the No. 1 seed in the 4x400-meter relay with the unit of Kadin Johnson, Jacob Thompson, Trey Huha and Kyle Rauchut.

QUALIFIED IN EVERY EVENT
Slippery Rock qualified at least one athlete in every event but will not have any athletes compete in the 60-meter dash after an injury to Benny Whitaker forced him to withdraw from the meet. The Rock will have multiple entries in 12 different events and seven entries in both the shot put and the pole vault. SRU will send 40 total men to compete and will also send 37 women for a total contingent of 77 athletes competing at the championships.

LOADED UP IN THE FIELD
A majority of The Rock's entries and highest seeded athletes come from the field events, where SRU will send seven men to compete in the pole vault and shot put and three men each in the long jump, weight throw and heptathlon.

ATHLETES TO WATCH ON THE TRACK
Slippery Rock has just three individual athletes ranked in the top eight in their respective events on the track and two of those are in the 60-meter hurdles, where defending champion Matthew Crow is the No. 2 seed and freshman Austin Kurta is the No. 7 seed. The only other top eight seed on the track in an individual race is Trey Huha, coming in at No. 8 in the 400-meter dash. SRU will expect to score in both relays on the track, but any other points on the track would be a bonus.

POLE VAULT U
Slippery Rock has seven of the 18 entries in the pole vault and five men seeded in the top eight. Drew Layton leads the way as the No. 2 seed, followed by Logan Gossard as the No. 3 seed and the freshmen duo of Ashton Grossman and Christian Crowley tied for the No. 5 seed. Scott Finch is the No. 8 seed, while two-time All-Region honoree Bradon Schneider is the No 9 seed.

HORIZONTAL JUMPS
Jason Alderson is the top seeded SRU athlete in both horizontal jumps and enters the meet seeded sixth in the long jump and seventh in the triple jump.

HUGE THROWS GROUP
Slippery Rock has seven of the 18 seeds in the shot put and three men set to compete in the weight throw. SRU shot put record holder Seaton Wozniak enters as the No. 2 seed and is looking to improve on his second place showing from a year ago. Freshman Connor Brown is the No. 3 seed, followed by Logan Parker as the No. 7 seed. Zach Gose headlines the list in the weight throw where he is the No. 4 seed in a loaded event that includes four men ranked in the top 30 nationally this year. Gose was runner-up last winter. Ryan Oleksy is the No. 6 seed after taking fifth in his debut last winter.

MULTI GROUP
Logan Anderson took third last year in his PSAC debut as a freshman and enters this meet as the No. 1 seed. Edinboro had an athlete break the PSAC record this year, but that athlete has decided to skip the PSAC meet in anticipation of qualifying for nationals. That opens the door for Anderson to be the top seed this weekend as he looks for his first conference title. Jacob Stucchio enters as the No. 5 seed after placing sixth a year ago.

AWARDS AND HONORS
The top three finishers in all events will be named to the All-PSAC team and the top two teams in the team standings will take home team trophies. A number of other awards will be handed out Sunday as well, including awards for the top scholar-athletes   at the meet and Most Outstanding Athlete awards.

QUALIFICATION
In order to compete this weekend, athletes had to meet the PSAC automatic qualifying mark in their respective events. If any event did not have the minimum field size of 18 athletes with qualified marks, the event was filled to the 18th best entry mark in that specific event to ensure at least 18 entries in all individual events. For the multi-event competition, the top 14 scores were accepted.

SCORING
The top eight finishers in the final round of each of the 17 events will be awarded team points in the following order: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.
