ASHLAND, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University women's track & field team tallied 14 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks and won two events at the Ashland Invitational Saturday at Ashland University.

The Rock picked up wins on the track in the 400-meter dash with
Jianna Long and the 5,000-meter run with
Ruthie Hughes.
Â
Long took the top spot in the 400m with a time of 57.98 seconds and then helped SRU post season-best time of 3:58.30 in the 4x400-meter relay with
Shannon McCullough,
Lydia Reed and
Ava Reagle joining her to take fourth.
Â
Hughes led a 1-2 finish in the 5,000m with a winning time of 17:42.13.
Carissa Flynn also met the PSAC standard and took second in 18:24.70.

Reagle and
Ondrea Young closed out the PSAC marks on the track with Reagle placing seventh in the 200-meter dash in 25.94 seconds and Young finishing fifth in the 60-meter hurdle finals in 9.06 seconds.

The other nine PSAC marks Saturday came in the field, including six in the jumps and three in the throws.

The Rock tallied three PSAC marks in the triple jump with
Alice Bogia leading the way in third place with a leap of 11.06 meters.
Baylee Blauser and
Tayla Kurzawa followed in fourth and fifth with matching jumps of 11.04 meters. Kurzawa also met the conference standard in the high jump to place third with a clearance of 1.62 meters.

Allie Taylor led the way in the pole vault with a second place finish and a mark of 3.63 meters.
Paige Harding followed in third place with a mark of 3.48 meters.

Olivia Heckman led SRU to a pair of PSAC marks in the shot put with a third place finish and a throw of 13.35 meters.
Becca Martin followed in fifth with a toss of 12.40 meters. The final PSAC effort came from
Sydney Hale, who took seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 14.89 meters.

Slippery Rock will return to action next weekend with a pair of meets. Select athletes will compete at Youngstown State Friday and Saturday at the Mid-Major Invitational while other athletes will travel to Mount Union for the Jim Wuske Invitational.
