YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University women's indoor track & field team recorded 10 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, one NCAA provisional mark and two event wins at the YSU Collegiate Invitational Friday at Youngstown State University.

Most of the SRU roster was returning to action after a break of more than five weeks between the semesters and was competing for just the second time this season.
Â
The Rock were led by
Allie Taylor with an NCAA provisional effort in the pole vault and
Jianna Long and
Olivia Heckman with a pair of event victories.
Â
Taylor took second overall in the pole vault with a season-best clearance of 3.73 meters, narrowly topping the NCAA provisional standard of 3.72 meters.

Long won the 400-meter dash to lead the team on the track after posting a PSAC automatic mark of 58.50 seconds. The Rock also got PSAC marks on the track from
Ruthie Hughes with a ninth place showing in the mile (5:14.98) and
Kathryn Morrison with a ninth place showing in the 60-meter hurdles (9.16 seconds).

Heckman led the throwers to a 1-2-3 sweep in the shot put with a winning toss of 13.02 meters.
Becca Martin was second at 12.38 meters and
Haley Domagala was third at 12.29 meters as all three met the PSAC standard.
Sydney Hale took fourth in the weight throw with a PSAC qualifying mark of 14.30 meters to cap the top efforts of the throwers.

SRU also got a pair of PSAC marks in the jumps with
Baylee Blauser placing seventh in the long jump (5.37m) and
Tayla Kurzawa placing eighth in the high jump (1.58m).

The Rock will return to action next Saturday in Ohio at the Ashland Invitational hosted by Ashland University.
