YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University men's indoor track & field team recorded 17 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, two NCAA provisional marks and three event wins at the YSU Collegiate Invitational Friday at Youngstown State University.

Most of the SRU roster was returning to action after a break of more than five weeks between the semesters and was competing for just the second time this season.
Â
The Rock's throwers dominated the meet, winning both events and putting up nine PSAC automatic qualifying marks across the two disciplines.
Â
Connor Brown won the shot put with an NCAA provisional mark of 16.47 meters to lead The Rock to six PSAC qualifying marks in the event.
Seaton Wozniak was second at 16.34 meters, followed by
Tyler Ondrusek in fourth at 16.08 meters,
Evan Hall in sixth at 15.38 meters,
Zach Gose in seventh at 15.11 meters and his younger brother
Jacob Gose in eighth at 15.09 meters.

Zach Gose also won the weight throw with a toss of 18.07 meters, just missing the NCAA standard of 18.25 meters.
Ryan Oleksy was second with a mark of 16.62 meters and
Evan Hall was fourth at 15.44 meters to give SRU three PSAC marks in the event.

The Rock's 4x400-meter relay team of
Kadin Johnson,
Matthew Crow,
Trey Huha and
Kyle Rauchut closed out the evening Friday night with a win in 3:24.05 to highlight the efforts on the track.
Â
Crow also led a trio of PSAC qualifiers in the 60-meter hurdle finals with a runner-up finish in 8.18 seconds.
Logan Anderson was sixth at 8.57 seconds after running 8.34 in the prelims and
Jonathan Wess was seventh in 8.59 seconds after clocking 8.57 in the prelims.

The second NCAA mark of the day came in the pole vault, where
Logan Gossard led SRU to four top six finishes with a runner-up showing and a clearance of 4.85 meters.
Ashton Grossman was third at 4.70 meters with
Christian Crowley finishing fourth at 4.55 meters and
Scott Finch matching that height to place sixth at 4.55 meters.

The final PSAC mark of the meet came from
Jason Alderson, who put up a career-best of 14.24 meters to place second in the triple jump.

The Rock will return to action next Saturday in Ohio at the Ashland Invitational hosted by Ashland University.
