SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's track & field team earned the runner-up trophy at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships that wrapped up Saturday from Shippensburg University.

The Rock placed in the top three in the team standings for the 14th straight year and earned a top two finish for the 35th time in program history. Shippensburg claimed the team title with 211.5 points with Slippery Rock taking second with 137.5 points. East Stroudsburg finished third with 122 points, followed by Kutztown with 79 points and Lock Haven with 71 points to round out the top five.

Slippery Rock picked up five more All-PSAC honorees and one more champion Saturday on the final day of action with Matthew Crow providing the highlight of the day. The senior hurdler took third in the 110-meter hurdles to earn All-PSAC honors before shocking the field to run away with the 400-meter hurdle title for the first time in his career with a time of 53.81 seconds. Crow tallied 16 individual points and picked up a pair of All-PSAC honors in his final PSAC meet.

Crow's win in the hurdles gave SRU four event victories across the 21 events of the meet, joining Logan Anderson (decathlon), Seaton Wozniak (discus) and Jason Alderson (long jump), who all won titles Friday on the second day of action.

Slippery Rock scored 16 points in the shot put with Wozniak leading the way with a season-best and NCAA provisional qualifying throw of 17.88 meters to place second, closing his meet with 18 individual points. Wozniak also took home some additional hardware Saturday when he was named the PSAC Champion Scholar for owning the highest GPA of all men competing this weekend. The senior business major owns a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Connor Brown took fourth with an NCAA provisional mark of 16.74 meters and Logan Parker was sixth with a toss of 16.28 meters.

SRU scored 16.5 points in the pole vault and had a pair of first-time All-PSAC honorees with Ashton Grossman and Christian Crowley clearing 4.66 meters to place second and third. Bradon Schneider took sixth with a mark of 4.51 meters.

Joey Reed grabbed five points for The Rock in the javelin throw with a fourth place finish and an NCAA provisional throw of 60.26 meters to round out a strong effort from SRU across the throws.

Austin Kurta took fifth in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.88 seconds to score four points and combine with Crow to give SRU 10 total points in the event.

The Rock scored in both relay events Saturday with a fourth place finish from the 4x400-meter team of Josiah Vidzro, Kyle Rauchut, Jacob Thompson and Grey Lowman in 3:17.64 and a sixth place finish from the 4x100-meter relay team of Rauchut, Thompson, Nicholas Hartwick and Michael Milot in 42.05 seconds.

Alderson picked up one point in the triple jump Saturday with an eighth place finish and a leap of 14.30 meters after he won the long jump Friday and Micah Good picked up one point with an eighth place finish in the 400-meter dash in 49.40 seconds.

Saturday marked the final day of the season for much of the SRU roster. A select group of athletes are scheduled to compete next weekend at Baldwin Wallace for a Last Chance Meet and those athletes with NCAA qualifying marks will learn if they have been accepted to compete at the National Championships when the fields are announced May 12.
