ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University men's track & field team recorded 10 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, two NCAA provisional marks, seven event wins and 20 top three finishes at the Jim Wuske Invitational Saturday at the University of Mount Union.

The Rock men swept the throwing events and recorded eight PSAC qualifying marks across the two disciplines, including NCAA provisional marks in both events.

Seaton Wozniak won the shot put with an NCAA provisional toss of 17.11 meters to lead The Rock to six of the top seven places in the event.
Logan Parker took second with a mark of 16.22 meters, followed by
Connor Brown in fourth (15.73m),
Tyler Ondrusek in fifth (15.61m),
Evan Hall in sixth (15.54m) and
Zach Gose in seventh (15.34m) with all six men meeting the PSAC standard.

Gose also won the weight throw with an NCAA provisional mark of 18.49 meters with
Ryan Oleksy finishing second with a throw of 17.15 meters.

Slippery Rock picked up wins in four of the five field events the team entered Saturday with
Matt Mallon and
Ian James sweeping the horizontal jumps. Mallon won the long jump with a leap of 6.79 meters and James took the triple jump with a mark of 13.72 meters.

SRU hit two PSAC marks on the track with both coming in the 60-meter hurdles.
Austin Kurta picked up his first collegiate win in 8.39 seconds with
Jonathan Wess finishing third in 8.65 seconds.

Two more event wins came on the track with SRU sweeping the long sprints.
Kyle Rauchut won the 200-meter dash in 22.74 seconds and
Kadin Johnson took the 400-meter dash in 50.93 seconds.

Slippery Rock split its squad this week, sending the pole vaulters, multi-event athletes and select distance runners to Youngstown State. That meet is expected to finish late Saturday night (
results here).

Slippery Rock will travel its greatest distance of the indoor season next week with a trip to Grand Valley State in Allendale, Michigan next Saturday.
