SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. –
Autumn Wyatt won the heptathlon to lead the Slippery Rock University women's track & field team into first place after day two of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships Friday from Shippensburg University.

The Rock scored points in all five event finals that were contested Friday and climbed from fourth place after day one into the team lead with 59.5 points. Millersville sits second with 38 points, followed by East Stroudsburg with 28 points, Kutztown with 26.5 points and California (Pa.) with 25 points to round out the top five.

The highlight of day two belonged to the multi-event athletes as Slippery Rock put all three of its entries in the top four to score 23 points in the heptathlon. Wyatt won her first career individual PSAC title with a score of 4,612 points.
Leighanne Swan took second to earn All-PSAC honors as well with a score of 4,431 points.
Maddy Miller rounded it out with a fourth place finish and a score of 4,334 points.

Slippery Rock also got an All-PSAC finish from
Sydney Hale in the discus Friday after Hale also scored in the hammer throw Thursday. She took second in the disc with a throw of 42.73 meters to pick up eight points.

SRU scored 8.5 points in the pole vault with
Allie Taylor placing fourth with a clearance of 3.55 meters and
Paige Harding tying for fifth with the same height.

The Rock grabbed eight points in the long jump with
Alice Bogia leading the way in fourth place with a leap of 5.82 meters.
Tayla Kurzawa placed seventh at 5.73 meters and
Baylee Blauser was eighth at 5.72 meters.

The final points Friday came from
Marabelle Thornberry, who took seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:38.75 to score in her PSAC outdoor debut.

While just five event finals were contested Friday, the rest of the day was filled with preliminary rounds on the track to qualify for Saturday's finals. The Rock qualified athletes in five different events, including both hurdle races, the 4x100-meter relay and the 100-meter and 400-meter dashes.

The 4x100-meter relay squad of
Grace Lennon,
Lydia Reed,
Kamryn Ross and
Ava Reagle clocked the fastest prelim time of the day to earn the No. 1 seed in the finals in 47.10 seconds. Lennon also qualified for the 100-meter dash finals as the No. 4 seed in 11.96 seconds and Reed qualified in the 400-meter dash as the No. 8 seed in 57.84 seconds.

The highest individual qualifier on the track was freshman hurdler
Ondrea Young, who clocked the No. 2 time in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.25 seconds. SRU will also send two to the finals in the 400-meter hurdles with
Evabella Cox qualifying sixth in 1:03.74 and
Madison Smalheer qualifying seventh in 1:03.89. Â
