Rock named PSAC Women's Coaching Staff of the Year

For the second straight year and the third time in the last three outdoor seasons, The Rock women's track & field coaching staff was named the PSAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University track & field coaching staff was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women's Coaching Staff of the Year when the league announced its outdoor track & field major awards Thursday.

This marks the second year in a row and the third time in the last four outdoor seasons The Rock coaching staff, led by head coach Bill Jordan, has earned the Outdoor Staff of the Year award from the league. Slippery Rock swept the coaching awards this year after also being named the Indoor Coaching Staff of the Year back in March.

Slippery Rock scored 146.5 points to pull away for a comfortable win at the conference meet this spring after scoring in all but three events over the three days of competition. The Rock qualified 52 women to compete at the PSAC Championships and came away with two individual champions in Savannah Schneck in the shot put and Autumn Wyatt in the heptathlon and nine All-PSAC honorees that earned top three finishes.

SRU had six women earn All-Region honors this spring and seven women record NCAA provisional qualifying marks in their respective events, including Schneck and Olivia Heckman in the shot put, Wyatt in the heptathlon, Tayla Kurzawa in the high jump, Isabella Bartoletti in the javelin and Alice Bogia and Baylee Blauser in the triple jump.

Slippery Rock has now won the last three straight PSAC indoor titles and the last two PSAC outdoor titles.

Jordan recently completed his 21st year on the coaching staff at SRU and his fourth as head coach of the program. In addition to guiding The Rock women to a pair of conference titles in 2025-26, he also led the men's track & field team to runner-up finishes at both the indoor and outdoor conference meets to make Slippery Rock the only program in the conference to bring home four track & field trophies in 2025-26.

The Rock coaching staff includes four full-time coaches for a total of six sports with men's and women's cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field. Jordan is joined by full-time assistant coaches Bobby Over (distance), Tabitha Bemis (multis, jumps) and Jordan Geist (throws).

The rest of the staff, many of which are part time or volunteer positions, includes Nathan Shadeck (sprints, hurdles and relays), Judy Geist (throws), Jim Geist (throws), Vanere Maynard (sprints), Andrew Maxwell (distance), Maddie Grillo (distance), Cam Daugherty (pole vault), Joshua Rohland (graduate assistant - throws) and Cade Adams (graduate assistant – sprints and hurdles).

This marks the second major award earned by the SRU coaching staff this spring after Jordan was also named the Atlantic Region Women's Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Slippery Rock's PSAC outdoor title this spring was the 19th women's outdoor title for the program, the most in league history.
