Jordan named Atlantic Region Coach of the Year

Slippery Rock track & field head coach Bill Jordan was named the Atlantic Region Women's Coach of the Year when the USTFCCCA announced its regional awards for the 2026 outdoor season Monday.

NEW ORLEANS – Slippery Rock University head track & field coach Bill Jordan was named Monday as the Atlantic Region Women's Coach of the Year when the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its regional award winners for the 2026 outdoor season.

Jordan earns his fourth Atlantic Region Women's Coach of the Year award from the USTFCCCA after previously being recognized with the 2023 outdoor honor and both the 2024 and 2025 indoor honors.

The latest major award comes after Jordan and his staff led Slippery Rock to the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference title to cap a season sweep for The Rock after also claiming the 2025-26 indoor crown as well. The outdoor title marked a PSAC-leading 19th overall conference title for the SRU women's program.

Slippery Rock scored 146.5 points to pull away for a comfortable win at the conference meet this spring after scoring in all but three events over the three days of competition. The Rock qualified 52 women to compete at the PSAC Championships and came away with two individual champions in Savannah Schneck in the shot put and Autumn Wyatt in the heptathlon and nine All-PSAC honorees that earned top three finishes.

SRU had six women earn All-Region honors this spring and seven women record NCAA provisional qualifying marks in their respective events, including Schneck and Olivia Heckman in the shot put, Wyatt in the heptathlon, Tayla Kurzawa in the high jump, Isabella Bartoletti in the javelin and Alice Bogia and Baylee Blauser in the triple jump.

Slippery Rock has now won the last three straight PSAC indoor titles and the last two PSAC outdoor titles.

Jordan recently completed his 21st year on the coaching staff at SRU and his fourth as head coach of the program. In addition to guiding The Rock women to a pair of conference titles in 2025-26, he also led the men's track & field team to runner-up finishes at both the indoor and outdoor conference meets to make Slippery Rock the only program in the conference to bring home four track & field trophies in 2025-26.
