CMU INVITATIONAL RESULTS

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University track & field teams combined to record five Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks and 11 top 10 finishes at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational that wrapped up Saturday evening from Carnegie Mellon University.
 
The Rock sent a limited squad to CMU with most of the team's top sprinters, hurdlers and field athletes competing this weekend at the University of Lynchburg.
 
Slippery Rock got three PSAC marks form the women and two from the men at CMU with high jumper Sophia Yard recording the highest finish over the two-day meet for SRU with a runner-up showing in the women's high jump with a PSAC clearance of 1.60 meters.
 
The other PSAC marks on the women's side came in the 5,000-meter run, where Carissa Flynn was 11th in 17:49.65 and Ruthie Hughes was 15th in 18:01.66.
 
Both of the PSAC marks on the men's side came in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, where John Juszynski led the way with a seventh place finish in 9:30.28. Michael Gauntner followed in 16th in 9:52.83.
