CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's track & field team recorded 10 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks and three event wins at the Vulcan Early Bird Meet Saturday at Penn West University California.
Â
The Rock sent a limited roster of just 22 women to compete in the outdoor opener Saturday and came away with 10 automatic qualifying marks for the PSAC Championships.
Â
Slippery Rock won three events on the day with
Isabella Bartoletti winning the javelin,
Allie Taylor winning the pole vault and
Ondrea Young winning the 100-meter hurdles.
Â
Bartoletti, who only throws the javelin and does not compete indoor, made her long-awaited season debut by winning the javelin with a toss of 41.54 meters. She led a 1-2 finish by SRU as
Eva Tokar took second with a PSAC mark of 39.40 meters.

Grace Parrett took third in her season debut with a matching clearance of 3.40 meters.
Ondrea Young led the way on the track with a win in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.97 seconds. Ava Regale also recorded a pair of PSAC marks on the track with a second place finish in the 100-meter dash in 12.30 seconds and a third place showing in the 200-meter dash in 25.61 seconds.
