USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams
NEW ORLEANS – The Slippery Rock University men's and women's track & field teams and 19 individual student-athletes were recognized as All-Academic honorees by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association when the organization announced its 2024-25 academic awards this week.
In order for a team to be named All-Academic, the collective GPA of all members on the indoor and outdoor competition rosters must be above 3.0. The Rock women posted a 3.613 GPA following the 2024-25 academic year, while the SRU men posted a 3.356 GPA.
In addition to the teams being recognized, Slippery Rock also had 10 men and nine women named to individual All-Academic honors. In order for individuals to earn the recognition, they must own at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA after at least 24 completed credit hours and they must record an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in at least one event during the indoor or outdoor seasons.
The Rock men are represented on the All-Academic list by
Logan Anderson (heptathlon, decathlon),
Matthew Crow (60m hurdles, 110m hurdles, 4x100m relay),
Zack Duda (decathlon),
Joshua Gose (shot put),
Zach Gose (hammer throw, weight throw),
Logan Gossard (pole vault),
Dan Hyatt ( pole vault),
Drew Layton (pole vault),
AJ Virata (60m, 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay) and
Seaton Wozniak (shot put).
Crow, J. Gose and Hyatt are now three-time selections to the All-Academic team after also being honored in 2023 and 2024. Layton, Virata and Wozniak are now two-time honorees after being recognized in 2024 as well. The rest of the SRU men recognized are first-time honorees.
The SRU women are represented on the All-Academic team by

Sarah Corrie (shot put),
Samantha Gilbert (60m, 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay),
Olivia Heckman (shot put),
Ruthie Hughes (10K),
Anna Igims (mile, 3K, 5K, 3K steeplechase),
Becca Martin (shot put),
Savannah Schneck (shot put) and
Allie Taylor (pole vault).
Corrie, Gilbert and Igims earn their third straight All-Academic honor. Igims is also a four-time All-Academic honoree in cross country. Bartoletti and Heckman pick up their second straight All-Academic award. The rest of the SRU female selections were named to their first All-Academic team in track & field.
The 19 individuals and two team awards continue a stellar academic year for The Rock track & field program. The Rock men won the PSAC Team GPA award for owing the top GPA among all men's track & field programs in the league in 2024-25 and SRU placed five athletes on the Academic All-America team with
Anna Igims and
Jennifer Cichra representing the women's team and
Seaton Wozniak,
Joshua Gose and
Drew Layton representing the men. Igims was also named the PSAC Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
