NEW ORLEANS –
Slippery Rock University track & field coaches Bill Jordan and Bobby Over earned Coach of the Year honors and distance runner Anna Igims was named the Track Athlete of the Year in the Atlantic Region when the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its regional award winners Friday night.

Jordan was named the Women's Head Coach of the Year and Over was named the Women's Assistant Coach of the Year for their efforts in helping Slippery Rock to the 2024-25 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference title. The Rock were also the only team in the PSAC to send any women to the National Championships this winter, with Igims representing SRU in the 5,000-meter run.

Igims, a graduate student from Pittsburgh, continues to rack up the awards during her final year at The Rock. She was named the PSAC and Atlantic Region Athlete of the Year in the fall after winning the PSAC and Atlantic Region titles in cross country and repeats as the Atlantic Region Track Athlete of the Year after another stellar indoor season this winter. She won PSAC titles in the mile, 3,000-meter run and as a member of the distance medley relay and earned All-Region honors in those three events and the 5,000-meter run, posting the fastest time in the region in all four events. Igims broke her own SRU record in the mile this winter (4:55.10) and clocked a new career-best in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:36.79, which was the 15th fastest time in the nation. She closed out her final two years at SRU by going 7-0 at the PSAC Championships in 2024 and 2025, winning four events in 2024 and three more in 2025.

Jordan, who is in his third year as the head coach of The Rock track & field programs, picks up his third Atlantic Region Coach of the Year award. He was also recognized with the 2023 women's outdoor award and is a repeat winner this season after claiming the 2024 women's indoor honor.

Slippery Rock won the 2024-25 PSAC indoor title with the largest margin of victory since 2012 with The Rock winning by more than 60 points. SRU scored points in 16 of the 17 events contested at the PSAC meet and won an impressive seven event titles. The Rock swept the individual sprints with wins in the 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash, took three distance events with wins in the distance medley relay, mile and 3,000-meter run and picked up a win in the shot put.

SRU had 11 women earn All-Region honors for owning top five marks in the region this winter, including four women that were recognized in multiple events.

Over, who is in his third year as the distance running coach at SRU, repeats as the Atlantic Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year after also winning the award last winter. Over was also named the PSAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year in each of the last two fall seasons and is a three-time PSAC XC Coach of the Year honoree.

He picks up this award after leading The Rock women's distance runners to a total of 52 points in four events at the PSAC Championships, which included wins in the distance medley relay, mile and 3,000-meter run and a runner-up showing in the 5,000-meter run. SRU had nine All-PSAC athletes in the distance events with Igims and Ruthie Hughes earning All-PSAC in all three events they ran.

Slippery Rock won its second straight and eighth overall PSAC indoor title while earning a top three finish at the conference meet for the 14th straight season.
