2025 Summer Camp and Clinic Info

As summer camp and clinic dates and planning for 2025 is finalized, that information will be posted to this page. Camps are listed in chronological order beginning with the first camp of the summer, so make sure you scroll through the full list of available camps if you are searching for a specific sport.
 
For information on each of the summer camp opportunities available at Slippery Rock University, contact the coaches listed below each respective camp. Any registration forms or other links related to the camps will be posted on this page as they become available.


2025 ROCK FOOTBALL RELENTLESS PROSPECT CAMP #1
Registration: CAMP REGISTRATION SITE

Location: Milhalik-Thompson Stadium
For Ages: All Players entering grades 9-12 in the fall (JUCO also welcome)
Description: Showcase your abilities and get evaluated by the Slippery Rock coaching staff! You will learn how to play your position with emphasis on technique and fundamentals while competing against some of the top talent in the area. Event will consist of athletic testing, agility stations, speed and power testing, position specific drills and one-on-ones. This is an unpadded camp. Only cleats are required! Registration in advance is preferred, but walk-ups will be welcomed. All campers will receive a Slippery Rock football t-shirt.

SRU SOFTBALL PROSPECT CAMP

For: High school girls currently in ninth grade and up & college transfers
Description: Prospect camp is geared towards prospective student-athletes who are interested in Rock softball and want to improve their skills. The camp includes hitting, pitching, catching and infield/outfield drills.
Cost: $70 for the hitting clinic, $65 for the pitching clinic and $35 each for the catching, infield and outfield clinics per day.

2025 "FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS" GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL CAMP

Date: Friday, June 13th   
Time: 5:30–8:30 p.m.
Check-In/Testing: 4:30–5:30 p.m.
Location: Milhalik-Thompson Stadium
For Ages: Girls entering grades 5-8 and 9-12 in the fall
Description: Showcase your abilities and learn to play your position with emphasis on technique and fundamentals while competing against some of the top talent in the area. Event will consist of athletic testing, agility stations, speed and power testing, position specific drill-work related to flag football and one-on-ones. Camp will be facilitated by Slippery Rock coaches and members of the Pittsburgh Passion flag football pro team. Participants will be assembled into teams and the clinic will wrap up with competitive play. All campers will receive a Slippery Rock football t-shirt. Only cleats, mouthpiece and flags are required.

For Ages: All Players entering grades 9-12 in the fall (JUCO also welcome)
Description: This is a passing camp for entire high school teams to compete and receive instruction against each other in 7-on-7 games. There will be a round-robin format before beginning playoffs. Space is limited, so please sign up early. Standard 7-on-7 rules and format will be followed. All campers will receive a Slippery Rock football t-shirt.

Description: This camp is designed for development of football skills for youth and will have specific emphasis on throwing, route running and catching, speed and agility stations and overall position specific drill work facilitated by Slippery Rock coaches and players. All campers will receive a Slippery Rock football t-shirt

ROCK WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM SHOOTOUT

Date: June 20-21
Time: 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Location: Morrow Field House
For Ages: Girls High School Teams (Grades 9-12)
Description: Our annual high school team shootout will take place June 20-21. Each registered team will be guaranteed four games minimum. There will be two games on Friday and two games on Saturday. All games will be played between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. in Morrow Field House.
Cost: 1 Team - $315 (4 games) / Varsity and JV teams from same high school - $600 (4 games per team).

SRU CROSS COUNTRY / DISTANCE RUNNING CAMP

Dates: June 22-25
For: Boys and Girls Ages 12-18 (rising grades 8-12)
Description: The camp will serve as an early preseason conditioning camp for individuals or teams. Training in camp will be designed to lay the foundation for a successful summer training block. Athletes will learn mechanics and drills, race planning and implementation, strength and conditioning and mental toughness to navigate training and racing.

2025 BRANDON FUSCO BIG MAN FOOTBALL CAMP

Date: Thursday, June 26TH  
Time: 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Check-In: 8:45–9:30 a.m.
Location: Milhalik-Thompson Stadium
For Ages: All Players entering Grades 9-12 in Fall 2025 (JUCO Welcome)
Description: Linemen from your team will compete and receive instruction from Rock legend Brandon Fusco and other members of the Slippery Rock coaching staff. Fusco was a first team All-American, the 2010 National Lineman of the Year and an NFL Draft pick with the Minnesota Vikings. He played nine seasons in the NFL with the Vikings, 49ers and Falcons. There will be extra emphasis on technique and fundamentals as it relates to line play while competing against linemen from other schools in a variety of competitions that challenge strength, endurance and teamwork. All campers will receive a Slippery Rock football t-shirt.

SRU POLE VAULTERS CAMP

Dates: June 27-29
For: Boys and Girls Ages 12-18 (rising grades 8-12)
Description: One of the top pole vault camps in the area that has developed hundreds of collegiate pole vaulters and some of the top vaulters in the state over the last 30+ seasons. Campers will learn vaulting and training techniques from some of the best pole vault coaches in the region with Brady Rhoades and his staff from The Vault Shack leading the group along with Tim Tray of Vault Athletics.

SRU THROWERS WEEKEND CAMP

Dates: June 27-29
For: Boys and Girls Ages 12-18 (rising grades 8-12)
Description: High quality, in-depth coverage of the discus, shot put and javelin, as well as a brief introduction to the hammer. Campers will learn warm-up drills, throwing drills and technique progressions in all three events. Sessions will include weightlifting, plyometrics, medicine ball workouts and other drills directly related to throwing.

SRU JUMPERS WEEKEND CAMP

Dates: June 27-29
For: Boys and Girls Ages 12-18 (rising grades 8-12)
Description: High quality, in-depth coverage of the high jump, long jump and triple jump. Campers can choose a jump to specialize in or can gain a wide breadth of knowledge for all jumps. The camp will include seven instructional sessions and one video lecture session on jumping technique and other topics directly relate to jumping. Camp will include weightlifting, plyometrics and speed and power development.

SRU SPRINTERS & HURDLERS WEEKEND CAMP

Dates: June 27-29
For: Boys and Girls Ages 12-18 (rising grades 8-12)
Description: Three-day camp that covers advances sprinting and hurdling techniques. Athletes will work on warm-up drills, hurdle drills, starts, techniques for high and intermediate hurdles and will go through sessions on weightlifting, plyometrics, aquatic workouts and other topics directly related to sprinting and hurdling.

ROCK WOMEN’S BASKETBALL YOUTH CAMP

For Ages: Girls entering grades 4-8
Description: This exciting camp is designed to give young girls the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of basketball while interacting with SRU women's basketball players and coaching staff. We are thrilled to offer a fun and engaging experience where campers will develop their skills through scrimmages, competitions and drills. We are excited to offer an overnight option for campers!
What to Expect: Skill development in key areas such as shooting, passing, ball handling, defense and teamwork. Fun competitions and scrimmages to apply learned skills in a game setting.
Opportunities to bond with SRU players and staff, gaining insights into the collegiate basketball experience. Recreational activities like swimming to balance skill-building with fun. We look forward to seeing our campers grow as basketball players while having an unforgettable experience. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from the best while making new friends and having fun!

LITTLE ROCKERS YOUTH CLINIC

For Ages: Girls and boys ages 5-8
Description: We will be introducing and working on the basic fundamentals of basketball such as shooting, passing, dribbling and defense. We will spend the first 45 minutes working on skill work before playing games. The kids will be instructed by Rock women’s basketball staff and players.

SRU VOLLEYBALL GIRL’S SKILLS CAMP

Times: Sunday (12-9:30 p.m.), Monday/Tuesday (7:15 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.), Wednesday (7:15-11:30 a.m.)
Location: Aebersold Recreation Center and Morrow Field House
For: All girls in grades 6-12
Description: The SRU volleyball coaching staff is committed to training athletes by providing each player with the opportunity to learn and enhance the fundamental skills of volleyball. We teach the game by providing quality instruction in conjunction with competitive opportunities. The objective of the camp, in addition to skill development, is to emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork and fun.

SRU GIRL’S TEAM VOLLEYBALL CAMP

Dates: July 9-11
Location: Aebersold Student Recreation Center and Morrow Field House
For: A team is defined as a minimum of seven players (preferably eight to 10) from the same school or club who can play all required positions. It is recommended that no more than 12 players comprise a team. Each team must be accompanied by a coach.
Description: The team camp will provide attendees with instruction from top area high school and college coaches. The SRU volleyball coaching staff is committed to training athletes by providing each player with the opportunity to learn and enhance the fundamental skills of volleyball. We teach the game by providing quality instruction in conjunction with competitive opportunities. The objective of the camp, in addition to skill development, is to emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork and fun.
Cost: Resident ($225), Commuter ($210)

SRU MEN'S SOCCER APRIL ID CLINIC

For: High school students (freshman and up)
Description: The camp will include player check-in and structured warm-up led by SRU coaches and active players, small-sided games to showcase your technique and creativity, 11v11 full-field matches for in-game evaluation, campus and athletic facility tour, Q&A session with the coaching staff about the recruiting process, academics, and what it takes to be a college athlete. All games will be filmed and attendees can receive the match footage to use in future recruitment. Lunch is included.

2025 GIRLS ROCK SUMMER SPORTS CAMP

For: Ages 7-12
Description: Come rock the fields, courts and tracks – and discover how strong you can be! Join the fun at Slippery Rock University’s Girls Sports Camp! Whether you’re trying a new sport or sharpening your skills, this camp is the place to grow. Girls in elementary and middle school will learn a variety of sport skills, build confidence, and make great friends in a supportive, exciting environment. With expert coaching from our Slippery Rock coaching staff, lots of games and fun activities every day, you’ll leave feeling stronger, faster and ready to rock both on and off the field. This is a three-day sports camp, with three different sports highlighted each day.

  • Tuesday, July 15 – Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer

SRU FIELD HOCKEY SUMMER CLINIC

Location: Mihalik-Thompson Stadium
For: High school seniors and younger
Description: SRU coaches and players will teach concentrated technical and tactical skills throughout the clinic. Attendees should bring their own stick, shin guards and water bottle. The cost of attendance is $180 per person.

WOMEN’S SOCCER ID CLINIC

Location: Mihalik-Thompson Stadium
For Ages: Students entering 9th grade and up
Description: Our ID clinic is designed for high school players who are serious about playing at the collegiate level. You'll participate in training sessions, small-sided games and have a chance to interact directly with our coaching staff.
Cost: $130 if registered before June 13 and $150 for registrations after June 13. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required.

For: High school girls currently in ninth grade and up & college transfers
Description: Attendees will receive hands-on instruction in advanced offensive and defensive techniques, participate in game-like situations and put their training to the test in live scrimmages. Our experienced coaches will provide personalized feedback to help players identify areas for improvement and maximize their potential. Additionally, timeouts will be called in the situational game for on-field coach instruction. This camp is ideal for serious softball players looking to gain exposure, experience a collegiate-level practice and take their game to the next level.
