INDIANA, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's track & field team recorded 12 event wins, 15 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, two NCAA provisional marks and 32 top five finishes at the Ed Fry Invitational Saturday at Indiana University (Pa.).

Frigid temperatures, wind and rain hindered the athletes' ability to record top times and marks, but Slippery Rock still managed to put together two NCAA provisional marks and 15 PSAC automatic qualifying marks.

Both NCAA marks and 10 of the PSAC qualifying marks came in the throws as Slippery Rock won all three throwing events the team entered Saturday. Seaton Wozniak led the way with an NCAA mark and a win in the shot put with a toss of 17.05 meters. Joshua Gose also hit the NCAA standard to take second with a throw of 16.74 meters. Logan Parker took fourth at 14.78 meters to give SRU three men with the PSAC standard in the shot put.

Zach Gose took a pair of wins Saturday with victories in the discus and hammer throws. He won the disc with a throw of 46.98 meters to lead SRU to a 1-2-3 sweep. Wozniak was second at 46.39 meters and Andrew Demko was third at 43.88 meters with all three men hitting the PSAC mark. Gose then landed a throw of 52.66 meters to win the hammer and lead SRU to four more PSAC marks there. Ryan Oleksy was second at 49.50 meters, followed by Demko in fourth at 47.55 meters and Joshua Rohland in fifth at 47.22 meters.

SRU picked up a pair of wins in the jumps with Dan Hyatt winning the pole vault with a clearance of 4.05 meters and Jason Alderson winning the triple jump with a leap of 13.32 meters. Jack Thomas had the lone PSAC mark in the jumps with a runner-up finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.92 meters.

Slippery Rock won seven events on the track, including both relays.

Matthew Crow led the way there with two individual wins and a relay crown. He took the 110-meter hurdles in a PSAC time of 14.60 seconds, won the 400-meter hurdles in 57.81 seconds and also ran a leg of the winning 4x100-meter relay, where he teamed with Benny Whitaker, AJ Virata and Kanye Thompson to clock a time of 41.78 seconds. Logan Anderson joined Crow in hitting the PSAC mark in the 110m hurdles with a runner-up spot in 14.89 seconds. SRU also swept the top four places in the 400m hurdles.

Whitaker also took the top spot in the 100-meter dash in a PSAC qualifying time of 10.82 seconds.

Joey Cintavey won the 1,500-meter run in 4:07.24 and Troy Hart cruised to a win in the 10,000-meter run in a PSAC time of 32:25.12. The Rock's distance runners then closed the meet with some fun with the group of Anthony Robare, Easton Adamczyk, Dylan Barca and Brady Hoffman combining to win the 4x400-meter relay in 3:39.69.
