TEAM TITLE PREVIEW
Slippery Rock enters the weekend looking to defend its 2024 title and pick up an eighth PSAC indoor crown. The Rock are looking to extend the streak of top three finishes in the team standings to 11 straight seasons. SRU took the 2024 title with 136 total points, finishing 30 points ahead of Shippensburg in second place. Based on the seedings entering the meet, Slippery Rock will be favored to come home with a second straight title. The Rock are expected to be chased closely by Shippensburg and East Stroudsburg. SRU is trying to lock up the second "running sport" title this academic year after winning the 2024 PSAC cross country title during the fall.

SRU'S RETURNING CHAMPIONS
Slippery Rock returns the Overall Most Outstanding Athlete and the Track MVP from the 2024 championships in distance runner Anna Igims, who anchored the distance medley relay to a title before going on to win the mile, 3,000-meter run and 5,000-meter run last winter on her way to scoring 40 points. Igims will anchor the DMR again this year and will race in the mile and 3,000-meter run, but SRU has elected not to run her in the 5,000m. Igims is the only individual returning champion for SRU this year, but is not the only former champion. Aleks Brozeski won the triple jump at the 2023 indoor meet before placing fourth last year.

NO. 1 SEEDS
Slippery Rock enters the meet with the No. 1 seed in six different events. Igims enters as the favorite in the mile and the 3,000-meter run, while fellow distance standout Ruthie Hughes is the top seed in the 5,000-meter run. Samantha Gilbert enters the weekend seeded first in both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, in addition to being the No. 2 seed in the long jump. SRU owns the top three seeds in the shot put with Becca Martin leading the way as the No. 1 seed, followed by Olivia Heckman and Savannah Schneck as seeds No. 2-3.

QUALIFIED IN EVERY EVENT
Slippery Rock has at least one athlete qualified in every individual event and has multiple entries in 14 of the 15 individual events. The only event SRU does not have at least two entries is the 60-meter hurdles. The Rock have at least three entries in nine different events and have four or more entries in five different events.

AWARDS AND HONORS
The top three finishers in all individual events will be named to All-PSAC honors and the top two teams in the team standings will take home team trophies. A number of other awards will be handed out Monday as well, including awards for the top scholar-athlete at the meet and Most Outstanding Athlete awards.

QUALIFICATION
In order to compete this weekend, athletes had to meet the PSAC automatic qualifying mark in their respective events. If any event did not have the minimum field size of 18 athletes with qualified marks, the event was filled to the 18th best entry mark in that specific event to ensure at least 18 entries in all individual events. For the multi-event competition, the top 14 scores were accepted.

SCORING
The top eight finishers in the final round of each of the 17 events will be awarded team points in the following order: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.
