CLINTON, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's cross country team finished seventh in the team standings at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational Saturday morning at the Youthtowne XC Course.

No. 25 Ashland won the team race with 20 total points, topping Division III No. 15 Carnegie Mellon in second place with 95 points. The top team from the Division II Atlantic Region was West Virginia Wesleyan, which took third with 130 points. Point Park was fourth with 165 points and the CMU Alumni team rounded out the top five with 179 points.

Slippery Rock was seventh with 192 points. A total of 19 teams recorded scores and 190 individual runners completed the 8,000-meter course.

John Juszynski led the individual efforts for SRU with a 14th place finish in 25:24 to be the only Rock runner to dip under 26 minutes.
Dylan Ribelin ran a strong race to be the second finisher for SRU in 42nd place in 26:06.

Michael Gauntner was 47th in 26:17, followed by
Easton Adamczyk in 51st in 26:26 and
Alex Morris in 58th in 26:31 to round out the five scorers. The Rock's scoring runners were separated by a gap of 1:07 from first through fifth.

Ryan Czechowski was the sixth SRU runner across the line in 60th place in 26:32 and
Jonah Lindstrom rounded out the top seven in 61st place in 26:33. Full results for The Rock runners are available below.

Saturday's race was the final tune-up for SRU before championship season, which kicks off Oct. 25 with the PSAC Championships hosted by Edinboro.
