USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams
Â
NEW ORLEANS – The Slippery Rock University men's and women's cross country teams and nine individual student-athletes earned All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association when the organization announced its academic honors this week.
Â
In order for a team to earn the All-Academic recognition, the cumulative GPA for the entire roster must be 3.0 or above following the fall semester of competition. The Rock men compiled a team GPA of 3.42 while the SRU women's roster put together a team GPA of 3.72.
Â
Slippery Rock also had six men and three women named to the All-Academic team as individuals for owning above a 3.25 GPA and finishing in the top 30 percent of all eligible runners at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships.
Â
Easton Adamczyk,
Michael Gauntner,
John Juszynski,
Jonah Lindstrom,
Dylan Ribelin and
Eli Schreiber earned the honor on the men's side, while
Jennifer Cichra,
Gwen Lloyd and
Lydia Valeriano were recognized from the women's team.
Â
Jusynski and Cichra were both named to their third career All-Academic honor, while Schreiber picked up his second career recognition. Lloyd was also honored previously while competing as an undergraduate student at Lock Haven.
Â
Cichra continues to add academic honors from the fall after previously being named to the PSAC Fall Top 10 team and earning Academic All-PSAC accolades. Valeriano and Juszynski were also named to the Academic All-PSAC team in the fall.
Â
The Rock women finished eighth at the Atlantic Regional meet while the SRU men took 12th at the championship race back in November.
