SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University track & field and cross country programs will host their annual Alumni Race and Picnic Saturday, August 29.
 
The event will begin with the annual Alumni 5K Race on the campus course that begins and ends by the entrance to the Jim Egli Soccer Field. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with the race set for an 11 a.m. start. Alumni will receive a 50-meter head start for each year that has passed since their graduation.
 
Following the race, a free picnic will take place at the SRU Ski Lodge from 1-4 p.m.. Friends and family are welcome to join. There will be a pig roast, sides and beverages provided.  

Alumni coming to town a day early are also welcome to play golf Friday, August 28 at the Slippery Rock Golf Club beginning at 4 p.m. To join in on the golf, please email head coach Bill Jordan at william.jordan@sru.edu.
 
Registration for the event is free, but we ask that all alumni please RSVP online in advance so we can ensure we have enough food for the event. To register, please click HERE.
