YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University women's indoor track and field team recorded 15 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks and five top five finishes at the YSU Collegiate Invitational hosted by Youngstown State University Friday.

More than 1,800 athletes from more than 25 different colleges were in action at Friday's meet, which took nearly 10 hours to complete and wrapped up shortly before 10 p.m.

The Rock got 10 of their 15 PSAC qualifying marks in the field events Friday, headlined by four in the pole vault.
Allie Taylor led the way there with a third place showing in the seeded section with a clearance of 3.59 meters.
Kendall Grossman followed in fifth place at 3.49 meters and
Olivia Sentle was 10th after also clearing 3.49 meters. SRU also picked up one more PSAC mark in the unseeded section of the event when
Hanna Zeiler won the competition with a mark of 3.35 meters.

Baylee Blauser was the next highest finisher from SRU Friday when she took fourth place in the long jump with a leap of 5.55 meters. She was joined in hitting the PSAC standard in the event by
Aleks Brozeski, who was 17th with a leap of 5.24 meters.

SRU picked up three PSAC marks in the throwing events, headlined by
Sarah Corrie placing eighth in the shot put with a toss of 12.76 meters.
Tiffany Jolayemi led the way in the weight throw with an 11th place finish and a mark of 15.34 meters.
Rachel Hutchinson followed in 15th with a toss of 14.53 meters.

The final PSAC mark in the field came from
Paige Griffith, who placed 13th in the seeded section of the high jump with a clearance of 1.55 meters.

On the track, Slippery Rock welcomed its distance runners for the first time this winter and saw three distance runners record PSAC marks.
Ruthie Hughes hit the conference standard in the mile with a 23rd place showing in 5:22.52, while
Anna Igims and
Katie Plassio both qualified in the 3,000-meter run. Igims was 15th in 10:38 with Plassio placing 16th in 10:39.

Alice Bogia recorded a PSAC mark in the 400-meter dash with a 13th place finish in 1:00.23 and
Chaley Younkin capped the PSAC marks on the day with a 12th place showing in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.41 seconds.

Slippery Rock will return to Youngstown State again next weekend for the two-day YSU Mid-Major Invite that is scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
