EDINBORO, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's cross country team placed fourth at the Doug Watts Open hosted by Edinboro University Saturday.

Edinboro claimed the team title with 23 points, edging Shippensburg in second place with 44 points. Indiana (Pa.) placed third with 79 points, followed by Slippery Rock with 119 points, Seton Hill with 130 points and Mercyhurst with 147 points.

Josh Rader led the way for Slippery Rock with a 20th place finish after covering the 8,000-meter course in 27:09.
Â
Trenton Yoder was the second SRU finisher in 28th place in 27:44.
Jon Snyder placed 33rd in 27:55,
Noah Yake was 34th in 28:02 and
Andrew Maxwell capped the scorers in 38th place in 28:22.

The Rock's sixth and seventh finishers were
Ben Buckless in 44th in 28:44 and
Alex Dickson in 46th in 28:55.

Keegan Beard placed 48th in 29:03, Tim Ferguson was 49th in 29:08 and
Le'Shawn Huff was 59th in 30:33 to round out the SRU performances.

A total of 64 runners completed the course.
Â
Slippery Rock will take next weekend off before returning to action in two weeks at Lock Haven University.
