LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's cross country team placed ninth at the LHU Invite hosted by Lock Haven University Saturday.

York won the team title with 83 points, narrowly edging both Lock Haven and the Penn State club team, who tied for second place with 86 points. West Chester followed in fourth place with 147 points. Juniata (175), Lebanon Valley (196), Bloomsburg (210), the Princeton club team (242), Slippery Rock (242) and Point Park (265) rounded out the top 10 in the team standings.

A total of 16 teams recorded scores at the meet and 222 runners finished the 8,000-meter course.

Josh Rader led the way for The Rock with a 37th place finish in 26:48. It marked the second straight competition that Rader has led SRU in.
Â
Daniel Janyska made his season debut and was the second SRU finisher in 47th place in 26:59.
Trenton Yoder finished 49th in 27:00,
Andrew Maxwell was 55th in 27:11 and
Noah Yake rounded out the scorers in 64th place in 27:22.

Jon Snyder was the sixth SRU finisher in 92nd in 28:08. He was followed by
Le'Shawn Huff in 95th in 28:09,
Tim Ferguson in 97th in 28:13 and
Ben Buckless in 124th in 28:48.

Slippery Rock will take next weekend off before returning to action Oct. 6 at its new home course at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds as hosts of the Bill Lennox Invitational.
