NEW CASTLE, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's cross country team won the Bill Lennox Invitational Saturday at its new home course at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.

The Rock placed four runners in the top 10 positions to score 37 points, narrowly edging Bloomsburg for the team title after the Huksies finished second with 40 points. Wheeling Jesuit was third with 53 points.

Josh Rader led the way for the SRU runners for the third straight meet this fall, completing the 8,000-meter course in 29:17.
Â
Slippery Rock's second finisher was
Andrew Maxwell in sixth place in 29:55.
Trenton Yoder followed in seventh place in 29:59.
Daniel Janyska was 10th in 30:38 and
John Marenkovic was 11th in 30:54 to cap the point scorers.

Tim Ferguson finished 12th in 31:35 and
Noah Yake closed out the top seven runners with a 13th place finish in 32:26. Â

The college race Saturday put the cap on a full day of racing at the new course, which included elementary, middle and high school races as well. Complete results from all races are available at the link above.

Slippery Rock will rest next weekend before returning to action Oct. 20 as hosts of the Rock Pre-National meet at the Bob O'Connor Golf Course at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh.Â
