LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University men's soccer goalkeeper Troy Nine was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Defensive Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Nine, a junior from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, earns Slippery Rock its first PSAC weekly award this year. Nine is the 23^rd different men's soccer player to win a PSAC weekly award since 2004, accounting for 35 total PSAC weekly awards.

Nine led Slippery Rock to a 1-1 record this week, totaling six saves with a .750 save percentage and a 1.00 goals against average.

Slippery Rock began the week with a 1-0 loss under the lights at Walsh University, where Nine made four saves.

The Rock then bounced back with a four-goal second half in a 4-1 win against the University of the District of Columbia at James Egli Field. Nine totaled two saves in the matchup and earned the first win of the season for SRU.

Nine has played every minute in goal for The Rock this season. The Lansdale, Pennsylvania native has a 1-1-1 record with a .818 save percentage and a 0.67 GAA with nine saves and one shutout in 2026.

Slippery Rock has started the season 1-1-1 overall. The Rock will be back in action 4 p.m. Wednesday against Roberts Wesleyan University at James Egli Field.
