ASHLAND, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University men's track & field team recorded 15 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks and four NCAA provisional marks across two meets this weekend with athletes competing at Allegheny College and Ashland University.
 
Included in those 15 qualifying marks were two athletes that either qualified for the PSAC meet for the first time this season or improved on their seeding mark for next week's conference meet.
 
The headliner of the weekend was Seaton Wozniak, who improved his career-best in the discus with an NCAA provisional throw of 52.27 meters at Ashland, which ranks No. 1 in the PSAC and No. 23 in Division II this spring. Wozniak also took third in the invite section of the shot put with an NCAA provisional toss of 17.41 meters.
 
The Rock also got two more NCAA marks in the throws at Ashland, including one that came in a winning effort. Joey Reed took top honors in the javelin with a throw of 60.78 meters and Zach Gose was third in the invite section of the hammer with a toss of 60.04 meters.
 
The other highlight of the weekend came from Allegheny Friday night, where Nate Pitzer punched his ticket to the PSAC meet by qualifying in the 800-meter run for the first time this season with a time of 1:56.37.

Slippery Rock will now turn its attention to the PSAC Championships next Thursday through Saturday at Shippensburg University.
