SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's track & field team recorded 29 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, two NCAA provisional marks and won 10 events at the John Papa Invitational hosted by SRU Thursday.

The Rock welcomed athletes from 19 different colleges for the second and final home meet of the season, which kicked off in the morning with the hammer throw and ended just shy of 10 p.m. after the 10,000-meter run.

Slippery Rock was led by a pair of NCAA provisional marks in the field with
Tayla Kurzawa winning the high jump with a career-best mark of 1.68 meters and
Isabella Bartoletti winning the javelin with a throw of 42.94 meters.

Kurzawa had a stellar day that included a pair of wins after she also won the triple jump with a leap of 11.74 meters and met the PSAC standard in the long jump with a fourth place finish and a mark of 5.54 meters.

In addition to the two wins by Kurzawa and the win by Bartoletti in the field, Slippery Rock also won seven events on the track, including the 200-meter dash (
Kamryn Ross), 400-meter dash (
Ava Reagle), 10,000-meter run (
Carissa Flynn), 100-meter hurdles (
Ondrea Young), 400-meter hurdles (
Evabella Cox), 3,000-meter steeplechase (
Marabelle Thornberry) and the 4x100-meter relay (
Grace Lennon,
Lydia Reed,
Kamryn Ross,
Ava Reagle).

Slippery Rock will split its squad next week for a final tune-up weekend before the PSAC Championships. Part of the team will compete Friday at Allegheny while another part of the team will compete Friday and Saturday at Ashland.
