MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's cross country team tied for second at the Allegheny XC Classic Saturday at Allegheny College.

The Rock put up 95 points in the team standings to tie with Geneva, finishing one spot behind winner Baldwin Wallace with 52 points. Grove City took fourth with 97 points followed by Denison in fifth with 98 points. A total of 13 complete teams and 186 individual runners competed in the race.

Slippery Rock tackled a challenging hilly new course at Allegheny and covered 8,000-meters for the first time this year.
Â
Eli Schreiber led the way with a 14th place finish in 27:53.
Alex Morris was 18th in 28:06 and
Michael Gauntner was 19th in 28:07 to give The Rock three runners in the top 20 overall places.
Â
John Juszynski was 26th in 28:22 and
Easton Adamczyk rounded out the scorers in 29th place in 28:27.

The top seven was capped by
Dylan Ribelin in 33rd in 28:32 and
Jonah Lindstrom in 42nd in 28:46.

Slippery Rock competed Saturday without a handful of its possible scorers as some runners sat out nursing minor injuries.
Â
The Rock will return to action next Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Lock Haven Invitational for a preview of the LHU course that will host the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships in November.
